BCK: First off, how old are you? Carlon: I’m 19 years old.
BCK: When did you first start acting? Carlon: I actually first started acting when I was 11 or 12 years old. I did a competition in Florida. I took first place in monologue and after I did that people were like ‘you did a really good job.’ It was my first time picking up a script and people thought I should go to California and not long after my mom dropped everything and here we are today.
BCK: It must have been hard growing up acting and keeping up with school. Were you home-schooled? Carlon: Yes, I was home-schooled.
BCK: You are currently starring as Cameron Parks on “A.N.T. Farm” on the Disney Channel. Can you tell me about your character Cameron? Carlon: Yes. He is just a goofball. He’s very mischievous and he always wants to find he way out of something because he always finds himself in some crazy, crazy things. He normally finds a way out. Cameron, he’s just Cameron. Not too good with the ladies either.
BCK: Are you like Cameron in real life or are you totally the opposite? Carlon: I’m similar to him in ways. I think I’m a little bit funny. My personality is funny so I feel like we have that in common, but other than being funny and a little mischievous, I think I actually have a little bit of sense with the ladies.
BCK: What’s your favorite part about working on the show? Carlon: Being able to be surrounded by such positive kids. They do a lot. They definitely rub off on me in different ways and they always keep me motivated. They make me bring my “A” game because they are always on top of their game. That’s the reason I love being around this cast. It’s really a family now.
BCK: I’m sure that acting is amazing. Do you have any other dreams that you’d like to pursue? Carlon: For some reason, I’ve really been interested in editing and I’ve wanted to direct some things. I am a rapper, so I can write a little bit so I would definitely love to direct and start writing scripts. BCK: Where do you see yourself in 5 years? Carlon: I see myself doing more rapping and acting, trying to support my family, and giving back to the community.
BCK: Lil’ C –Note is your rap alias. Correct? Carlon: Yes, that it is.
BCK: When did you first get into music? Carlon: I first got into music when I was 8. I got motivated and really said, ‘I know I can do this’ when I saw an LL Cool J video. I was 6 when I saw that and 8 was when I started taking it serious and first got on and first started performing. I first saw LL Cool J and knew it was something that I wanted to do for a long time.
BCK: Is music or acting your first love? Carlon: Music is definitely my first love. Music got me here and helped me change lanes into acting.
BCK: Who’s your all time favorite rap artist? Carlon: It would have to be Justin Bieber. He’s doing good, taking the game by storm, and switching it up a little bit. I like what Justin is doing right now.
BCK: Who inspires you the most? Carlon: My #1 inspiration would be not only my mother, but also my Aunt Lisa. She really got me motivated and she really trained me to just become an artist and branch out into different things. So I would definitely have to say my mother and my Aunt Lisa. They have been the backbone of my career.
BCK: Can we expect new music from you soon? Carlon: Yes, I released a little music video. It was introducing people to my new 5-song mixtape that I have coming out and it’s called “2The10thPower.” It’s produced by 9th Wonder.
BCK: When will the mixtape release? Carlon: It’ll be coming out really soon. You’ll be able to see more visuals coming sooner than later. I have some music videos that I’m working on. You can expect that by the end of this year. BCK: Where can our readers find the music video? Carlon: My YouTube Channel- CarlonXJeffery. That’s where you can find the majority of my music. Also, on my Twitter-carlonjeffery. That’s where you’ll be able to find all of my music and my music videos that I release.
BCK: Do you have any words of wisdom for other young aspiring entertainers? Carlon: Always keep on moonwalking. That’s my little saying. You’ll see that on my Twitter. The sky isn’t the limit because if there are footprints on the moon then you can do anything in this world. Always stay humble and just remain on your grind. Do the best that you can to your abilities.
BCK: So, we have your YouTube Channel and your Twitter. Are there any other places where our can readers find you? Carlon: Soundcloud. It’s just my name and it has my music out there. Congratulations on so much success. Stay tuned for Carlon’s mixtape release dates and watch him on new episodes of Ant Farm airing 8/24 as well as next month on 9/7 and 9/21.
