A minute with Emily Sites

West Chester teen stays in the modeling spotlight. Tuesday, May 16 2006

A senior at Lakota East High School, Sites has appeared in print and magazine ads since seventh grade, including Cincinnati Magazine, Fabulous Furs and Elder Beerman. A client of Wings Model Management, downtown, the 5-foot-9 brunette has also gone global since 2003, modeling in the fashion capitals of the world, including New York, Milan, Paris and Athens.

Her projects abroad include runway shows for Armani, Versace and Prada.

How she was discovered: In seventh grade, I was at the Beach Waterpark (Mason), and one of (Wings) recruiters saw me. He had me come in for an interview and then for a runway competition. I ended up being one of the winners.

The worst aspect of being a model: All the talk and gossip. I like to keep it kind of quiet because I don't want the high school drama where people are like, "She thinks she's so cool because she models."

Biggest modeling surprise: At photo shoots, they always have really bad, fatty foods to eat, and I'm thinking, "You can't put that food out and expect us to stay in shape."

When I am not modeling: I'm going to concerts, painting or hanging out with my friends.

Worst habit: Just being disorganized. Messy. Constantly. Favorite food: SpaghettiOs.

Favorite junk food: Oatmeal cream pie, but only once every two months.

Favorite band: From First to Last.

Biggest celebrity she has met: Paris Hilton in Greece when she was there with Tara Reid. We were both in the VIP section at a club where all the models go to hang out. She was really nice, and she's not as stupid as people think she is.

Ten years from now: If I make it big enough modeling, I'll probably open my own art studio and be a crazy artsy lady. I would love to hold art classes in my own studio.
