Lance Alexander Acting Workshop
This week, something truly special happened at Wings Model and Talent Management: actor Lance Alexander returned—not as a student, but as a mentor, leader, and teacher.
Lance joined our acting classes to give back, share his experience, and pour into the next generation of young talent coming up through the very same studio where he began. Watching him coach, encourage, and connect with these kids reminded us why we do what we do. It’s not just about the bookings—it’s about building character, confidence, and community. Lance was recognized for his contributions to health and wellness and was honored with the Forty Under Forty Award for his outstanding leadership and impact.
Lance didn’t come alone. His incredible mother Angela was right by his side, just like she’s always been. From day one, Angela has been a guiding force—not just for Lance, but for other families too. She offers real-world advice with kindness, clarity, and an honesty that parents appreciate. Her presence in class is just as meaningful as her son’s.
For those who don’t know, Lance started with us in 2017. He walked into a meeting with Angela, and I asked him—half-joking—to give me a runway walk in the hallway. Without hesitation, he gave it his all, and I laughed so hard I knew instantly: this kid had something. From there, he joined our acting classes, lit up every scene, and soon after traveled with us to Expo in Dallas.
What followed was incredible. Lance began traveling to Los Angeles, booking roles on Raven’s Home, Teachers, and most notably, starring as Elvis in the hit Netflix series Family Reunion for five seasons. But what makes Lance truly exceptional isn’t just his on-screen work—it’s the fact that he’s never forgotten where he came from. He comes back to teach. He gives his time. He shares his journey—the highs and the hard parts.
During the pandemic, Lance struggled with depression and weight gain, eventually losing nearly 70 pounds and reclaiming his joy. That journey led him to write the book From Junk to Hunk, a deeply honest look at mental health, motivation, and how to get your life back. He writes, “It wasn’t about getting a six-pack. It was about finding my happiness again.”
Today, Lance continues to act, speak, mentor, and serve—with organizations like Ronald McDonald House and Boys & Girls Clubs of America. But this week, he was right back where it all started at Wings Model & Talent Management. We’re honored to welcome him and Angela back into the studio—not as students, but as mentors, guides, and living proof that dreams are possible when you put in the work and stay connected to your roots.
We are honored to be part of Lance’s journey—and even more honored to see him now becoming part of so many others.
